Local processing can improve responsiveness
When a device handles voice, image or sensor data locally, it may respond faster and continue working with limited connectivity. It can also reduce the amount of personal information transmitted.
Local does not automatically mean private
Apps may still collect diagnostics, account details or selected results. Clear settings and documentation remain necessary, and powerful local hardware can increase price and energy use.
The useful question is specific
Ask which feature runs locally, what data still leaves the device and how long the capability will be supported. A broad artificial-intelligence label reveals very little on its own.
