The inspiration for the design of the website comes primarily from Hemingway Reloaded, which is based on Kyle Neath’s original Hemingway theme for WordPress.
Veerle’s Blog is also a huge inspiration, and I have to thank her for her nicely-organized CSS document; I learned quite a bit from her styling.
I’ve used WordPress for the backend and dynamicness, with a slew of plugins created by the amazing WordPress community. Thanks to these plugins:
- Audio Player, by Martin Laine.
- Flickr Photo Gallery, by Joe Tan
- flickrRSS, by Dave Kellam
- SideRSS, by Chris Hatcher
- the_excerpt_Reloaded, by Kaf Oseo
- WP-PageNavi, by GaMerZ
- WordPress-YouTube Plugin, by Jörn Zaefferer
I take aesthetic inspiration from Apple products, the Mac and Mac OS X, and a whole lot of credit goes to Jonathan Ive.
PHP and MySQL are two open-source (and free) tools that power a huge part of the web, this site included. Thanks to HostingRails.com for a great hosting experience (with extensive Ruby on Rails support).
I use the amazing Mac freeware Taco HTML Edit, TextWrangler and, if I ever find myself on a Windows PC, Intype for all my text editing needs.
Reality Equation of Infinite Variables is powered by humanity.
Cheers,
Parimal (livatlantis)
